From the promenades of St. Tropez to the blazing shores of Tripoli, the shimmering blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea have attracted sun-worshippers and seafarers for centuries. Long before the Mediterranean became a global sun destination, this vast watery expanse served as something of a highway of sorts for merchants and traders who bought and sold their wares up and down the coastlines.
One of the more prominent of these trades was the agriculture and spice trade. Ships laden with spices would set sail from Northern Africa, Phoenicia and what is now the Middle East, their cargo having already made laborious trips overland or via ocean routes, sometimes for years at a time.
Mediterranean Blue hearkens back to these ancient days, when European markets teemed with dried spices and flowers, fresh from the holds of the ancient freighters. A stunning blend of pointed herbs, sweet floral notes and jasmine, the cup is nothing short of a Mediterranean summer in drinkable form. Cheers
